House in the Forest - A Homestead Near Warsaw

Location: Terenia, Poland 2025

House in the Forest is a single-storey building with a usable floor area of 97 m², designed in timber-frame technology and constructed as a modular home. It was created with the idea of light, modern architecture that blends harmoniously with its surroundings and offers a comfortable living space in close connection with nature. The form of the house is based on a simple, minimalist shape with a gable roof and a natural wooden façade. Vertical boards in several tones create an elegant rhythm and emphasize the contemporary character of the building, while a deep terrace recess functions as a sheltered porch, providing shade and opening the interiors to the garden. Large glazing frames the views like paintings, allowing for an intense relationship with the landscape. A wide horizontal window acts as a strong compositional accent, bringing natural light deep into the interiors and creating a subtle visual link between the house and the greenery. The house is built on a concrete slab foundation, which ensures excellent thermal insulation from ground level. This solution guarantees stability, energy efficiency, and improved thermal comfort, forming a solid base for the lightweight modular structure. Modular construction allows for precise production of components in controlled conditions and quick assembly on site, shortening the construction time and improving overall quality. The surroundings of the house are complemented by wooden decks, a raw firepit area, and naturalistic landscaping that together create a light, holiday-like atmosphere. House in the Forest is a proposal for those who value modern, ecological architecture that combines comfort, simplicity, and harmony with the natural environment.
