About me / About the studio

My name is Marta Szlachta and for several years I have been running The Design Studio Marta Szlachta - a place where architecture meets nature.

I believe that a home is not just a building. It is a space that should embrace, provide peace, and harmonize with the rhythm of nature. That’s why I create designs that combine simplicity, functionality, and harmony with the surroundings.

I specialize in wooden architecture and timber frame houses - modern, yet close to tradition. I am inspired by modern barns, Scandinavian simplicity of form and biophilic design, which allows nature to be brought inside. In my projects, natural materials appear: wood, stone, linen, glass, and greenery – everything that creates an atmosphere of peace and balance.

I do not design for a temporary effect. I create homes and interiors that are meant to last, age beautifully, and be part of the landscape. Each project is for me a dialogue with the place and the person - with their dreams, needs, and way of life.

In my work, I am guided by the principle of “less is more”, but never at the expense of emotions. Because good architecture is that in which one simply feels good living.
