A House by the Forest in Rekowo – 60 m² of Tranquility
This project is a response to the need for closeness to nature and a conscious, simple way of living. The timber-frame house, with an area of approximately 60 m², was designed on a plot located at the edge of a forest in Rekowo, in the Kashubian region - a place where everyday life slows down and space naturally brings clarity to the mind.
The simple, clear form covered with a gable roof refers to traditional Kashubian architecture, reinterpreted in a contemporary way. The dark exterior finish blends the house into the forest landscape, allowing it to “disappear” among the trees and become part of its surroundings rather than a dominant element.
Large glazing opens the interior to light and views, making nature an integral part of everyday living. The house was designed as a space for rest, remote work, or year-round living - compact yet thoughtful and comfortable.
A terrace, a fire pit area, and the naturally shaped surroundings create a place for gathering, quiet reflection, and staying close to what truly matters.
